Arizona CLAY
Association
History
Arizona CLAY was started in the sixties, by a group of clay artists in
the Phoenix area who were interested in the camaraderie and inspiration
to be gained by associating with fellow enthusiasts for their art and
passion. It has grown from a small handful of artists to over 200
members, with an active calendar to help promote clay to the general
public and make education in clay art accessible to all.
Mission Statement
Arizona CLAY is an association of workers in clay in art and commerce
who unite in the purpose of advancing public appreciation of clay as a
medium of expression. CLAY provides education through open workshops,
juried and non-juried public exhibitions in cooperation with other
institutions, and development of marketing opportunities. Fellowship for
all persons interested in ceramic arts is offered through attendance at
meetings and lectures and subscription to CLAY publications.
